drains and sewage pipes

unblocked, surveyed and repaired.

Blocked drain? Get it unblocked FAST!

Call Drain Claim FIRST! We’ll get our approved local contractor to unblock your drain quickly. Just as important, we can help you claim on your insurance to repair any damage.

Claiming for repairs: The big benefit of calling Drain Claim is that if your problem was caused by accidental damage to your pipe or drain, we can manage your claim to the insurance company. This way, the problem can be resolved and repaired at no cost to you (apart from any insurance excess you may have). If there’s no damage, you simply pay for the unblock.

Speak to us BEFORE you call your insurance company, but check your policy to see that you’re covered for accidental damage.

YOU PAY NOTHING TO DRAIN CLAIM to manage your insurance claim for you. Our role is to manage your claim – taking away all the hassle because we get the urgent work done, then deal with the insurance company to get the necessary repairs completed and your claim paid.

Clear report: We’re here to champion you, the consumer – but we also keep the insurer happy because Drain Claim provides insurers with a clear report of your drain problem. In our business, we know what is and is not covered by an insurance policy, so we can deal professionally with the insurance company to avoid errors.

Trust Drain Claim’s integrity:  Drain Claim is authorised and regulated by the FSA, so you can trust our integrity and professionalism. In addition, Drain Claim has NO links with any insurance company – so when we make a claim for you, we’re working for you.

Whatever the drain problem:  We can send a contractor quickly to handle the emergency and identify the cause. Then, if Drain Claim is handling your insurance claim, we submit your claim to your insurance company, agree the quotation, and arrange for the repairs to be carried out.

CCTV Survey - using technology to solve your drainage problems

No fault, no fee survey: As part of solving your emergency drain problem, we carry out a ‘no fault no fee’ survey with a CCTV camera. By sending a CCTV camera into your drains, our engineers can examine faulty drains and sewers remotely to investigate any damage

Our CCTV survey reveals what the problem is, and provides the essential information for our report to your insurance company. From the survey report we can see exactly what’s wrong, and work out the simplest, quickest and most cost-effective way to put right any structural problems. This helps avoid the cost and disruption of digging to find a problem.

Whether or not you’re covered: If you’re covered for accidental damage, we’ll manage the claim for you, and use the CCTV survey as part of a clear written report for your insurance company, at no cost to you

If you’re not covered, you can still use Drain Claim to organise the repair, and then pay for it yourself (we’ll agree a cost with you at the start). Or you can decide not to do the repair and simply pay for the unblocking or other initial emergency work.

Nothing to pay: The CCTV survey is paid for by the insurance company as part of the settlement of your claim, but if the survey finds no problem you can claim for, then there’s nothing to pay – we waive the survey cost. No fault, no fee.

About making a claim

Help is at hand! Your first concern is clearing the blockage, and we send a contractor to do that for you quickly. If you’re insured for accidental damage, it’s likely that you can reclaim the cost of the unblocking, CCTV survey and repair work, as long as the damage is accidental.

If you have checked your policy and you’re covered for accidental damage, then speak to us BEFORE you call your insurance company. Then Drain Claim can act on your behalf and manage the claim for you – at no cost to you

We use information from our no-obligation survey in our report to your insurance company. Then we’ll deal with the insurance company for you, allocate a local contractor to do the repair work, and get your claim paid.

Not covered, but still need drains, sewers or soakaways repaired quickly?

If your policy doesn’t cover you or for some reason your claim is not approved (for example, on rare occasions the damage is not accidental) you will already have the quotation for the repair cost if you decide to pay for it yourself.

You still have the option to use Drain Claim to get the necessary work done quickly and efficiently. We can arrange for our approved local contractor to do the work for you.

Authorised and Regulated by the FSA

Drain Claim is tightly regulated by the Financial Services Authority, who have authorised Drain Claim’s operation, so you can be confident of our professionalism.

Before we take on your claim, under FSA rules we need your authority to do so (see Essential Paperwork).

What does it cost?

When you call Drain Claim about your drain or sewer problem, we can tell you the standard fee for unblocking or resolving your immediate emergency.

The next step is a CCTV survey, and this is a ‘no fault, no fee’ service. If we believe the problem to be an ‘insured peril’, we manage your claim for you on a no win, no fee basis.

If you are insured for accidental damage and you authorise Drain Claim to manage the claim for you, in most cases you have nothing to pay (apart from any insurance excess you may have).

If you are not able to make a claim, you can choose to use Drain Claim’s contractors to carry out the repairs and pay for it yourself (we’ll agree a cost with you at the start). Or you can decide to have no repairs and pay only for the initial unblocking.

The CCTV survey is paid for by the insurance company as part of the settlement of your claim, but if the survey finds no problem you can claim for, then there’s nothing to pay – we waive the CCTV survey cost.

What is 'accidental damage'?

These are typical problems likely to be covered under accidental damage insurance:

  • Drains and Soakaways may suffer fractures from tree roots, ground movement, vehicle activity (traffic on a driveway, for example) or other pressure problems that cause ‘bellying’ and cracking of drains
  • Cesspits and Septic Tanks can suffer cracks, leaks and collapses for many reasons, including tree roots, ground movement and vehicle activity
  • Toilets and Drainage Inside The House can become blocked because of cracks and fractures caused by movement.

What might NOT be considered accidental damage?

  • A blockage caused by flushing insoluble items like nappies and wet-wipes down the toilet
  • Problems caused by vermin
  • Damage caused by poor workmanship or faulty design
  • Damage caused by wear and tear or gradual deterioration.
